We provide a variety of programs and services to support local communities, businesses and other organizations in the three-county service area:
  
  •  Rural Opportunities Loan Fund program provides term debt financing for start-up and existing businesses in the three counties. 
  
  • Business Incubator located in Colville, Washington provides business support services, counseling and education for clients who reside in the incubator.
  
  • Associated Development Organization – Ferry and Stevens Counties have designated Tri County Economic Development District as the agency responsible for implementing the Associated Development program through the Washington Department of Commerce. Primary responsibilities include business recruitment, expansion and retention, and assisting startup-up businesses. 
  
  • Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy is an ongoing effort in the region brings the public and private sectors together to create an economic roadmap to diversify and strengthen regional economies. 

 

  •   Northeast Washington Regional Transportation Planning Organization (NEW RTPO is responsible for long-range multi-modal transportation planning for the three counties. 
  
  
 What other services are available?
  
The District serves as a repository for demographic and socio-economic data for the three-county area. The District staff is available to answer questions and to help you find the data you need. In partnership with Eastern Washington University the District has a new data tool - the Northeast Washington Trends Website. www.northeastwashingtontrends.org 
  
  • The District staff is available to make presentations to community groups interested in economic development, learning more about the District activities, or other topics of special interest.  

 

  • The District maintains the Keys to Success business resource library and computer lab and has a number of free publications on business topics available at the office(s) and on our website:  www.teddonline.com 

  

  • The District staff is available to facilitate economic and community development efforts in the communities we serve. 

  

  • The District staff is available to review grant funding applications for communities or organizations prior to submission.  
 
 
  
What is Tri County Economic Development District?
  
Tri County Economic Development District, established in 1969, is a federally designated Economic Development District of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration. The District was created to encourage economic development in the region through planning, research and development. The District serves Ferry, Pend Oreille and Stevens Counties in northeast Washington.
  
What is the mission of the District? 
  
In order to sustain the highest quality of life for the people of Northeast Washington, the Tri County Economic Development District strives to develop a stable and diverse economy; to build partnerships between businesses, government and communities; and to assist businesses to grow, invest, create and retain jobs.
  
How is the District governed?
  
The District is governed by a Board of Directors with representation from municipal and county governments, public utility districts, the port district and the tribes. In addition, the Board of Directors includes representation from a number of other organizations with an economic development interest and representatives from the business community.
  
How is the District funded? 
  
The District receives funding from Federal, State and local sources in the form of grants, contracts for service and local membership investments.
  
How many staff work for the District? 
  
The District currently employs 3 people full-time.
