Organized in 1969 as an Economic Development District and later as a non-profit corporation, TEDD is committed to serving small businesses with financing and technical assistance. TEDD also works with local communities to promote job creation, economic stability and overall quality of life in the areas we serve.

TEDD understands the variety of challenges facing small business owners and provides quick, accurate answers to their questions, or knows where to get those answers. TEDD's "Rural Opportunities Loan Fund" finances business expansion and start-up, for businesses that may not qualify for traditional financing. Our clients can take advantage of our financing services and sound business advice to advance and improve their business. Business owners interested in growing the professional, managerial and financial capacity of a business can contact us.

Other business support is available through TEDD's Business Incubator that provides space for growing businesses. Other support includes one-on-one meetings with business counselors, access to how to guides, economic and demographic data and video library. In addition, TEDD provides businesses with counseling and business planning assistance. TEDD offers workshops and forums on a variety of business topics and issues; including business financing, marketing, telecommunications, etc. Provision of business assistance counseling is offered by TEDD through cooperation with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The SBDC is formed and supported by Spokane Falls Community College and Washington State University.

TEDD is also the lead agency for the Northeast Washington Regional Transportation Planning Organization (NEW RTPO). The NEW RTPO prepares a regional transportation plan and advocates for transportation improvements. TEDD is also the lead agency for the federally designated Five Star Enterprise Community.
